While this is a prequel, as the summary suggests, this short story should be read or listened to after the first book in the series. It does a fine job of humanizing and giving attention to characters who really didn’t get much in the books. It was a treat to see their relationship developed from their perspective, as opposed to hearing about it years later.

The audio narration was great.
