Review: Down into the Pit

Following a narrow escape from the secret world of warring shapeshifters, Ellie St. James works at building a new life under an assumed identity – until Carter Ballis, head of security for mob boss and shifter leader Sean Costas, reenters her life, bringing the perils of his job with him.

This time, it’s not just Ellie’s life at stake, but Carter’s too, as Sean’s rivals close in on them both. Far outmatched, Ellie refuses to crumble when it comes to protecting those around her. However, when a partial translation of the magical Stones of Fire, coupled with a terrible misunderstanding, thrusts Ellie into the gravest danger she’s faced yet, even the Talos himself may not be able to reach her in time….

Review: Ashes on the Earth

Shapeshifters exist. Monsters are real. And no good deed goes unpunished.

Nursing student Ellie St. James didn’t mean to get involved in a war between rival gangs of shifters, but saving the life of a local mob boss’s child has dragged her into one. When Ellie’s life is threatened because of her involvement, she’s forced to go on the run, protected by Carter Ballis, head of security for the mobster’s family, and a lethal shifter himself.

Blood, fire, and warfare weren’t part of Ellie’s plans, but even if she survives, her life will never be the same. The world is more than she knew, and she’s seen too much. People capable of morphing into deadly creatures from legends and folklore around the globe are coming for her. The cost of staying alive means trusting Carter to defend her, and he’s every bit as frightening as the creatures that want her dead….

Review: Shadowy

Shadowy.

That was Shadow’s existence for 5,000 years – until she learned in order to step out of her mother’s shadow, she had to step into her own.

Travel to Pohjola – Louhi’s domain, meet some of Shadow’s sisters, the Maidens of Pohjola, and discover how Shadow became Viktoria.

This 14k word short story is about the deal Shadow made with her mother, Louhi, the Goddess of Witchcraft and Death. It is loosely based on Finnish mythology (the Kalevala) and serves as a companion work to the Vampires & Strygoi Witches series.

Review: Canitus

Review: Shift for Brains

Zombie epidemics are bad for business.

And I thought five dollars plus your brain was a reasonable cover charge.

But you know…supply and demand…

And functioning brains are in short supply these days.

When it came to hunting vampires, I was second to none.

Vampires are intelligent. It also means they have predictable patterns. Figure out their habits and I could take care of most vamps and be back in time for breakfast.

They’re also image-conscious.

But zombies are unpredictable. They run on pure instinct.

They couldn’t care less about public relations.

Their numbers are growing by the hour.

Since I’m an elemental, they can’t smell me. It gives me an advantage that human hunters don’t have.

But will it be enough?

If I can’t stop them, it will mean the end of humanity, the end of the world as we know it.

Review: No Shift, Sherlock

As if bloodsuckers weren’t frightening enough…whatever killed these people consumed their souls…leaving their bodies completely unscathed.

The victims had only one thing in common: They were all attacked at my club. But when you mess with my fans, Nicky’s fans…well, you’ll unleash Nyx and soon regret it.

The Grimoire of the Nazarene is still missing. If the Order of the Morning Dawn finds it first, Mina will unleash a legion of angels to wipe out everything she deems unnatural: vampires, witches, me…and good people like me, people in my community.

Is there a connection between these killings and the missing grimoire? I have reason to believe it’s all connected.

With every body that turns up at my club, I suspect that Mina gets a little closer to acquiring the Grimoire of the Nazarene and ending us all.
