This review covers the audiobook only.

I’m begrudgingly DNF’ing this book. It’s a very long, slow-paced book. Which I am 100% fine with. What I’m not fine with are boring, dull, drab, lifeless, bored-sounding narrators who could put an insomniac to sleep.

Nearly every line is read in this boring-as-shit tone of voice. It’s lacking in any enthusiasm or character. As the book passes from one scene to another, it feels like a miserable slog to get there. It’s at the point for me, where I listen for a bit pause, and then dread having to pick it up again.

Another issue that annoys me to no end is having to listen to him say “farmiliar” over and over. I don’t know where the hell people get a second R from the word family / familial. And I honestly don’t care, it’s fucking annoying.

As for the story itself, if you’re interested in it, you should highly consider going with another format. Terrible narrators like this ruin audiobooks.
