As I noticed with book 6, the romance scenes are getting better. Even for a novella, we get a decent amount of time with Garridan and Siora. They grow as people, get to know each other, and court. Siora is fleshed out enough as a person that I know the title of this novella would irritate the shit out of her.

I enjoy these Eterya’s Earth novellas for a few reasons. One is it shows the world doesn’t revolve around the vamp royals (it does), another because it fleshes out the world of the main novels. It gives you interesting detail and what feels like behind-the-scenes moments that don’t appear in the main books. When these relationships are included in the main novel, as was the case with the doctor couple, it felt like it detracted from the story and had too many plot points and romances going on.

It’s a bit awkward to change narrators twice in three books, but what’s his name and this new guy have done an excellent job of capturing the spirit of the characters that whatever his name was brought to the series for the first 5 books.
