My biggest complaint with Immortal Beginnings is just that it’s not long enough. I need more of Etherya’s Earth and this scratched the itch. It’s nice to get to know these characters, but it feels like having to say goodbye, right after getting to know them.
During the Etherya’s Earth books, the characters talk about rehabilitating some of the demons, but I don’t really remember anything about it being addressed again. So that’s something I enjoyed about it. It helped to “humanize” them as characters, so they’re not mindless villains. Since I don’t know where else to add this, the sex scene(s) were great, as always.
I don’t know how well this would hold up as a standalone, for somebody unfamiliar with the series. It’s 4.5 books in and has a few references to the events of those books. Nothing too major, though there could be some spoilers if you read this and then the novels afterward. As this was part of the Untouched Heroes: Men’s Health charity anthology, I figured I’d add this.
The audiobook had an issue of repeated dialogue that I noticed. Otherwise, I found it was very well acted and performed.
