If you’re looking for a compelling plot, Our Fathers has absolutely nothing for you. Its strength lies solely in its humor. The characters referring to each other as “Father” back and forth constantly did get grating, though I have to wonder if that obnoxiousness was intentional, based on the humor found in the rest of the book.

The audiobook narration is great, aside from a few characters I had trouble telling apart early on. I appreciated and enjoyed the sound effects, such as the comedic car noises and others found throughout the book. I found it amusing when the narrator “forgot” the chapter names. Though all of these bonus aspects make me wonder if the physical version and the eBook would be nearly as amusing as the audiobook was.

This is definitely the kind of book for when you’re looking for some background noise, and don’t have the mental energy to follow some convoluted plot. I enjoyed it very much, and if you have a cheeky sense of humor, I think you will too.
