I like this story for several reasons. The first is because it’s a bite-sized story that’s part of a series. I wish more authors would do this to let readers get a taste for their series before diving in.

The other reasons I enjoy this are for the interesting, relatable, and compelling protagonist and her family. Most are well done and fleshed out as if they’ve been based on real people, so they feel real to the reader. I want to know more about the protagonist and her apparent ability to see Fae and Ghosts. I want to see how her relationship progresses with Lord Thornton and I want to know more about this ghost’s prediction.

The narrator does a wonderful job of bringing life to the characters and acting out lines.
