Darkrip and Arderin are probably tied with Lila and Sathan and my flavorite couple. I kinda-sorta have a soft spot for broody guys who think they can’t be loved, my mate being one of them.

Arderin just cums off as a bratty princess who just wants to get laid/married because everybody else around her is. She never misses a chance to bring it up either. Darkrip is his usual broody self, claiming to always be super evil, yet is always very tame. Both as people and as characters, they progress together more than any of the other couples do.

There were times I felt like their relationship took too much of a back seat. Though I also think they had the best bonding scenes. It’s difficult to talk about the moments I really liked about this one without spoilers.

I’m over the characters using the word “so” to describe everything. “I’m so happy.”, “This means so much.”, I’m so mad.” It’s insufferable when people do it in general. But when I try to escape this prison planet, into a novel, and the characters do it there too, it’s seriously annoying.

As always, the narrator was excellent. It’s nice to have a narrator who emotes and does different voices for different characters. I’ve had a few dud’s lately and he made for a very nice change from that.
