This review is going to exclusively cover the audiobook release.
Don’t buy it, don’t listen. The audio narration has this insufferable, ever-present hissing noise. I’ve been listening to this off and on for over a week and it has been an utterly joyless experience. Thinking back, I barely know what the plot is as I found it difficult to follow along. This is a rare DNF for me. I just can’t bring myself to listen to several more hours of static.
To make it clear, from what I can recall of the plot, it was great. The issue here is not the story, it’s the godawful audiobook and its lack of quality control. I enjoy the Gates of Eden literary universe and I suggest you go with Kindle or Physical copies, whichever one you prefer.
