The summary for this short story is essentially a barebones version of the plot. What you see is what you get. You’re dropped into the middle of a scene with some very well-done world-building. You’re told everything you need to know and the story progresses at a natural and believable pace.

As the majority of the story is world-building and setting the scene, there’s not much of a payout at the end. It feels more like reading the first chapter of what would likely be a very steamy novel.

My favorite aspect of this story is the narrator. She really makes the older female protagonist believable and does a good job of breathing life into the characters. The most lacking aspect of the narration is her Scottish accent.
