I’ll start off with a rant I’ve used multiple times in my reviews. I can’t stand the use of the word “silenced” when talking about guns. You can’t silence a gun, you can only suppress it. That annoyance aside, I enjoyed this story.

I did find the undercover names confusing, I think they were Red, Blue, Gary, and maybe Green. I honestly stopped trying and did my best to follow along. When all of the character names are basic colors and you have trouble remembering names, to begin with, it’s not worth the hassle.

The plot was exciting, dare I say, thrilling. It was well written and well-paced. I went along for the ride and had a good time. The protagonist never felt like he was ever in any real danger… because I couldn’t remember which one he was. But that didn’t hinder my enjoyment. It’s a mindless thriller with plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep you interested. The story is based in the U.K. or something. I just had trouble with all of the lingo and cultural differences that left me often wondering what something was supposed to be or mean.

The narration was a mixed bag. Most of the time, he sounded dull and lifeless. It was downright boring to hear him speak. He did do emotions well and probably character voices. I didn’t take notes, but I never had trouble telling when different people were talking. though I also never had any idea who the hell was talking. I just stopped trying early on. I will say, I got sick of listening to him say “2o7”. O isn’t a number and I highly doubt the writer wrote a room number with a letter in the middle.
